Kantian days in the Cathedral
In March, the Bach's Days festival was successfully held in the Cathedral, and in April the cathedral invites you to celebrate the birthday of our most famous countryman, Immanuel Kant. This year on April 22, the great philosopher celebrates the 295th anniversary. In honor of the world-famous Königsberz member, the Cathedral prepared a special “philosophical” program.
The festival “Kant's Days in the Cathedral” will open on April 20 at 14:00 with the concert “Popular organ”. On this day, the titular organist of the Cathedral, laureate of international competitions Mansur Yusupov will be “philosophizing behind the organ”. At 4:00 pm, the Wallenrodt Library will open its doors for you, and there will be a lecture by the chairman of the Kaliningrad branch of the Russian Philosophical Society, a senior researcher at the Baltic Federal University. I. Kant Valentine Balanovsky "Kant like a man." At 18:00, the world premiere of the Immanuel Kant Suite by composer Vasilisa Gornochnaya will take place as part of the “Kantov Days”. The Sonata for Flute and Organ by Frederick II will also be performed this evening. The concert is attended by: student of the international competition Ksenia Avramenko (flute) and titular organist of the Cathedral, laureate of all-Russian and international competitions Yevgeny Avramenko.
The 21st of April
The second of the “Kantov Days” will open at 14.00 with the concert “Popular organ” performed by the titular organist of the Cathedral, laureate of international competitions Mansur Yusupov. After the concert we will move to the Wallenrodt library, where at 4 pm we will continue to talk about Kant with Valentin Balanovsky. At 18:00 the dramatist and actor Dmitry Minchenok (Moscow) will tell about the “Secret Rules of Kant”. The musical part of the play consists of GF music. Handel, I.S. Bach, L. van Beethoven, T. Albinoni, F. Shubret, F. Liszt. The concert is attended by the student of the international competition Ksenia Avramenko (flute) and the titular organist of the Cathedral, laureate of all-Russian and international competitions Yevgeny Avramenko.
At 15:00, the exhibition "Immanuel Kant in the works of contemporary artists" will solemnly open. At 3:30 pm a traditional solemn act will be held in honor of Immanuel Kant’s 295th birthday, and then the International Conference “Kant and Ethics of Enlightenment” will open in the XII Kant's readings in the large hall of the Cathedral. Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Abdusalam Huseynov will read the popular science lecture. Kant's days in the Cathedral will end with the traditional laying of flowers at the memorial burial of the great philosopher.
